Dr. Lisa Smith, MD, FAPA is currently the chief of psychiatry at the VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System. She has been active as a physician leader since 2015, and has been a passionate advocate for patient safety and the trauma informed recovery model. She is fortunate to serve with a dedicated team of psychiatric providers who are equally committed to excellence in evidence based behavioral medicine. She is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Colorado Psychiatric Society and the American Association for Psychiatric Administration and Leadership.
Since Dr. Smith’s years as a trainee, she has focused on the patient centered interdisciplinary care model as well as medical ethics and principles of population health in psychiatry. Her goal is to contribute to the achievement of zero harm in medication management.
