The mission of the Get the Medications Right Institute (GTMRx Institute), a 501(c)4 entity, is to bring critical stakeholders together, bound by the urgent need to optimize outcomes and reduce costs by getting the medications right. Our vision is to enhance life by ensuring appropriate and personalized use of medication and genetic therapies.
The GTMR Institute advocates for broad support of five belief statements. They call for a personalized, patient-centered, systematic and coordinated approach to medication use, as well as payment delivery reform to advance comprehensive medication management that’s integrated with systems of care. Comprehensive medication management optimizes patient outcomes while reducing costs, but its broad adoption requires recognition of the appropriate role of skilled pharmacists on the patient-centered care team. As we look ahead to new medication-based treatments, we acknowledge that appropriate diagnosis and access to advanced diagnostics with companion/complementary and PGx testing is essential to target correct therapy.
The GTMR Institute is non-partisan and provides an open forum for diverse organizations committed to advancing adoption of comprehensive medication management. These groups include, but are not limited to, employers, consumer groups, patients, insurance companies, health information technology (to include EMR and data analytics), diagnostics firms, pharmaceutical companies, pharmacists and other members of the patient care team. The GTMR Institute believes a multi-stakeholder membership base provides tremendous insight and holds the potential for greater involvement. General membership is free; we welcome you to get involved and become a signing member.
The GTMR Foundation is a separate 501(c)3 charitable entity, and serves as our public education and information base for the common good. The Foundation initiates and makes available many resources geared for the needs of our diverse members, to include consumer groups, such as issue briefs, publicly-available best practices and learning tools. To contact the Foundation, please call (571) 310-2642.
The GTMR Foundation’s mission is to educate and inform critical stakeholders about skills, tools and knowledge required to transform practice, offering insight into experience-based best practices and evidence-based, effective solutions that reduce costs and save lives. The Foundation’s vision is to build broad awareness among consumers, providers of care and other stakeholders of the impact and pathway to effective, safe, appropriate and personalized use of medication and genetic therapies
